1050 Studio, a creator of media-based attractions for theme parks and public spaces around the world, has announced a further project for the Museum of Natural History in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
The studio is set to launch additional digital media that explores the world of dinosaurs. This will draw on its expertise in combining education with cutting-edge design.
“This immersive exhibition will bring prehistoric creatures to life, offering visitors a captivating educational journey through the world of dinosaurs, complete with interactive displays and state-of-the-art visual storytelling,” says a representative from the studio.
This project follows 1050 Studio’s highly successful exhibition, Dinosaurs of the past, which opened at Plovdiv’s Museum of Natural History in 2023. This project showcased the studio’s creative approach to science-based exhibitions and attracted thousands of visitors.
The new experience will build on this success and combine the most recent technology with artistic talent to create a fun and informative experience. It will feature multimedia walls that respond to visitors’ touch, and is set to appeal to both local residents and tourists.
“By combining their expertise in design and education, 1050 Studio is helping museums transform into dynamic, immersive spaces that appeal to a wide range of audiences,” says a spokesperson from the studio.
1050 Studio has delivered numerous projects for Bulgaria’s leading museums.
Its portfolio includes an award-winning project for Muzeiko, Eastern Europe’s largest children’s museum for children aged 2 to 12. Here, the studio developed approximately 15 digital interactives centred on STEAM subjects that exemplify its expertise in building innovative spaces that combine learning and creativity.
The museum’s architecture, by Lee H. Skolnick Architecture + architecture Partnership, promotes hands-on learning, and its activities are intended to spark curiosity and discovery. Muzeiko, which opened in 2015, has more than 130 interactive exhibits spread across three floors, each representing a distinct time period: the past, present, and future. Kids may learn about archaeology, geology, space exploration, and sustainability through hands-on activities.
1050 Studio also made a significant contribution to the Bishop’s Basilica of Philippopolis project in Plovdiv. The Basilica is a UNESCO World Heritage Site candidate and houses one of the biggest collections of ancient mosaics in the Balkans. The unique site has been transformed into a major heritage destination which features early Christian mosaics and explores the city’s rich Roman and Byzantine heritage. 1050 Studio’s work on this project highlighted its ability to integrate historical preservation with contemporary exhibition approaches.
Meanwhile in the UK, 1050 Studio recently provided interactive media content for the new Cadbury Chocolate Quest ride at Cadbury World near Birmingham, in collaboration with interactive technology specialist Alterface.
