Mariah Carey‘s new wax figure at Madame Tussauds in New York City has officially immortalized her as the Queen of Christmas.
The singer attended the unveiling on Sunday (Nov. 3), just in time to kick off the holiday season, and the resemblance is uncanny.
Carey wore a black floor-length evening gown, whereas the wax replica wore a red gown with a thigh-high slit. The look was inspired by her 2020 Apple TV+ holiday special, Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas.

Madame Tussauds described the wax figure‘s look as “totally reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe.” It also shows Carey holding a holiday ornament with a snowy backdrop, life-size nutcrackers and a Jack Russell Terrier, which was “a personal touch by Carey to honor her beloved pups,” as per the museum.
When the “All I Want For Christmas Is You” singer saw the wax version of herself, she exclaimed, “Oh my gosh, it’s surreal. Very good!” Madame Tussauds designed the replica as part of their Seasons of New York City exhibit for visitors to experience “the magic of all four seasons in the Big Apple.”
They noted that it will display “summer vibes in Central Park to enchanting winter wonderlands.”

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Carey’s hit album, Merry Christmas. She’s already released new merch and shared two new cover art variations to commemorate the anniversary. Her Christmas Time tour commences on Wednesday (Nov. 6) in California and will conclude on Dec. 17 in New York City.
